My First Birthday Party

Today was the BIG day that I was so looking forward to. Mom even had the day off work because her company knew it was my birthday and our country's birthday tomorrow too.

I made sure to wake Mom up extra early at 5:43AM to get a start on our day by bringing my toys up on the bed and tossing them around, jumping around growling and whining, and licking Mom's face to get her moving. Mom was kind of crabby and went back to bed after we took our long morning walk.

After our breakfast, Mom let me open one present.

Oh, puhleez can I open it??

I just can't wait!

Ooh it's a plastic pig that makes loud squeaky sounds.

Hi Mr. Pig

Thanks Mom, I love squeaky toys!!

In the evening, we went to Grandma's for a special birthday celebration. I got to open my presents from Grandma before dinner.

** reading Grandma's birthday card to me**

Ooh, what did Grandma buy for me??

WOW, it's a soccer ball AND a football!!! Grandma knows what kinds of toys boys like.

See my football?

See my soccer ball?

I love these toys Grandma!!

I got to have dinner in the dining room next to Mom's chair since it was a special day. For dessert, we had my birthday cake which was a special cake for doggies that is "human grade" so our people can enjoy it too. Why are people so picky about their food?

My cake!!

Here's my cake with one candle because I'm one year old.

Here I am with a birthday hat. T-man Angel said that he and Uncle Sammi had to wear those hats on their birthday too.

How do I look, T-man??

Next everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. Mom told me to make a wish and helped me blow out the candle.

Next we got to eat!! The cake was so yummy that I ate every crumb and even had a second helping.

Then I got to finish opening my presents. Here's a present sent all the way from the Philippines from my friends Moy Moy, Trudis, Jappy, Woody, Scarlet, and Bambi who live with the Animal Doctor. They were so nice to think of me and go to all that trouble to sent me presents from so far away.

Ooh, what's inside here??

Wow, my very own lobster!!

Can I eat this for dinner??

Mom said that this lobster was just for chewing, not for eating. It's braided, so will be good for me to chew, and there's no stuffing for me to swallow.

My friends also sent me a pecan cashew goody. It looks scrumptious but Mom said I shouldn't have any tonight after eating all that cake. We can try it tomorrow.

Ooh, this smells good

Thanks pups of the Animal Doctor. I love my pressies!!

My next present was some beef flavored toothpaste.

Yum, my favorite flavor

What's in my next package?? It looks purple...

Ooh, it's a bungee gecko!!

Mom says let's open the next present

Mmmm chick'n stix treats....

Here's my last present

Wow, it's a toy donkey just like T-man had!!

It makes donkey sounds and everything...I love it!!

Thanks everyone for a wonderful birthday party!!

Puppy Days

Well, it looks like according to the poll, I most resemble Kevin Jonas, but people leaving comments say I look most like Joe. Those Jonas brothers would be lucky to get such a good looking guy like me in their group.

Anyway, now that my one year birthday is approaching, I'm taking advantage to act as much like a puppy as possible before time runs out. I've been running around like crazy, stealing clothes & shoes, and chewing up tissues.

Mom has been preparing me for the transition by mixing some adult food in with my puppy food. She feeds me Buffalo Blue food. We are trying the fish flavor adult food, but I don't like it. I like the chicken mix or lamb mix better, Mom!!

Tomorrow is the big day when I turn one year old. Guess I'll start having to act mature soon, whatever that means..

Jonas Brother Look-a-like

Mom was watching Larry King Live last night where the Jonas brothers were being interviewed. Since Mom is old and doesn't know what's really important in the world these days, she didn't know much about those brothers. But she did notice that they reminded her of someone.....ME!!! They all have curly black hair just like I do.

Which brother do you think I look like the most??

PS: I wonder if they hate getting their hair combed as much as I do?

Why I Hide

Some of you asked why I went to my hiding place when Mom got my harness. The reason was because it was Monday morning, and I knew after we went to Grandma Daycare, Mom would go to work. I just didn't want to be separated from Mom. It's really tough for us on Monday mornings.

By the way, I've found a way to get to my hiding spot. I just climb through CC-man's cabinet!! I went there tonight when Mom wanted to wash my feet after my walk, and when she tried to comb me this morning. I think I'm driving Mom crazy.

Farewell to Chloe

We were so sad to hear that a birdie member of the 4-B's family passed away today. Her name was Chloe and she was 9 years old, which isn't that old in parrot years. She had been sick recently, and finally passed on to the bridge. Now she can fly free and strong.

CC-man is feeling pretty depressed right now. He has never lost one of his birdie friends before. He says we need to appreciate each and every day we have together.

Mom's note: What a beautiful bird she was!! Her gorgeous colors in this photo brighten up this page.

Foiled!!

OK, so Mom got really upset with me on Monday morning when we had to leave for Grandma Daycare because I hid behind CC-man's cage instead of letting her put my harness on. Well, what did she expect?? That's why they call it a "hiding place"!!

Mom got fed up and blocked off my hiding place like this:

Someone call the ASPCA!!

Don't look at me... I don't have a phone!

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how to outsmart Mom.

My Hiding Place

I've been using my new hiding place a lot lately. It's perfect because when I'm back here, Mom can't get her hands on me and make me do things.

For example, whenever Mom picks up the brush I run and hide. Note from Mom: I tried Waverly's idea of using a slicker brush, but Teddy doesn't like it either. I've even been hiding when Mom wants to wash my feet or put my harness on. Mom's note: I may need to block off his hiding place soon!

Can you see me hiding back here?

CC-man has been better about letting me use his area as a hideout. Maybe because he's been busy stuffing his beak with pasta all weekend.

Buon appetito!!

I'm Eleven Months Old!!

Hey everyone, come celebrate with me on my 11 month old birthday!!!

Wow, I'm feeling so grown up these days. I've gotten so big that Grandma told me I was a full grown dog. Mom still feeds me puppy food though. That's alright, I like it!

This last month I learned some new things like how to hide from Mom behind CC-man's cage. I go there immediately when she picks up the brush or comb. It has been a lifesaver. I also learned how to tear apart my stuffed toys and throw the stuffing all over the room. T-man Angel taught me this trick. Mom's note: T-man must have shown him how to do that because he didn't learn it from me, or another doggie.

Next month I'll be officially all grown up. Mom says we'll have a real live party. My birthday is one day before our country's birthday, so we can celebrate together. I hope my country likes cake and ice cream too!

Perfect Weather

Today we had perfect spring weather. Not too hot, not too cold, and really sunny. Mom brought her camera on my morning walk, but didn't have the batteries charged enough so only got one (not so good) picture of me. Too bad!

We spent much of the day on our deck relaxing. Here I am getting relaxed.

And here's my full relaxation pose.

Mom got a good picture of CC-man's feathers in the sun. He actually looks like he's thinking in this picture, but I know he's just dreaming of food.

Where's my egg biscuit??

My Weekend

My weekend started off really good. Mom and I took a super-long morning walk, then she gave me a bath. Really, honest, I didn't mind!! I like being in the bathtub.

Then, things got ugly when Mom got out the comb.

No, please not that!

You see, I don't mind getting a bath, but I HATE getting combed!! There's nothing worse in the entire world.

** feeling nausea**

My only option was to retreat to my hiding place behind CC-man's cage.

I'm safe here!

MOM!!! Teddy's hiding behind my cage!!

OK, CC-man got me busted so I got dragged out and combed. Mom had to wrestle with me to get my curls combed. It was a tough battle, but here I am combed (**ugh**)

** feeling defeated**

Mom felt bad for spoiling my weekend, so she made CC-man (traitor!) and me some hard-boiled eggs.

OK Mom, I forgive you!!

I put on my "sad serious" face to score some eggs. This was something T-man Angel taught me.

give me eggs give me eggs give me eggs

Here's how T-man showed me...

** sad serious look --> eggs**

Mom gave me most of one egg. That pesky CC-man got his share too. He doesn't eat as much as me, and nibbles WAY too slowly and it makes me impatient because I want him to hurry up so I can get more. Mom holds the egg for that lazy bird so her hands are busy doing that instead of feeding me.

Afterwards, we all relaxed on our deck.

Ahhh, this feels good

We love spring!!!

Enjoying Spring

video

Here's a video of me enjoying Grandma's lawn this spring. I just love to sit and feel the sun on my back and the breeze on my face. Don't mind Mom's silly calling, or the sound of the train in the background. Just enjoy the morning with me!

Mom's note: If that wonderful rescue group hadn't saved Teddy from the puppy mill, he'd have never known the feel of grass under his feet, or the sun or wind. I'm forever thankful for those rescue people and all they do.

My Flowers

Hi everyone!! The weather has been really great here the past few days. Mom, CC-man and I have been spending time on our deck.

Fresh air smells so good!!

Take a look at my flowers!! They suddenly appeared on the deck this weekend.

Wow, where did these come from??

Here are some red ones that will attract hummingbirds.

My bunny had fun nestling in the flowers.

Shh...I'm hiding from Teddy

Hee hee, silly bunny I see you!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Grandma told me that today was a very important day called "Mother's Day". It's a day when I get to show my appreciation for all the nice things Mom does for me. Grandma helped me buy a card for Mom.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!!

CC-man and I bought Mom some flowers too. Mom helped us pick them up from the store.

Thanks, Mom!!

PS: CC-man was extra crabby today and did lots of screaming. I guess he still doesn't understand what the day is all about.

Skinny Pig

My pig has gotten awfully skinny in the past few months. I'm kind of worried about him. It's too late to see a vet tonight, so I'll try to take care of him myself.

This patient needs snacks right now!!

Mom's note: Teddy has started ripping holes in his toys the way T-man did. I make sure to throw the fluff away so he can't swallow it.

Meet My New Frog

Today Mom went to Petsmart which means that CC-man and I got some new toys. CC-man got a thing he can chew that hangs in his cage. He's scared of it so hasn't played with it yet. My toy is this new frog. See how he posed nicely for this picture.

Mom's note: I had to hold Teddy's frog up near the ceiling to avoid him grabbing at it so I could get a decent photo.

Hi Mr. Frog!!

Now let's get a photo of the two of us together...

Oops, too much me and not enough frog

Whoops, too much frog and not enough me

Oops, my frog looks uncomfortable here

There, a perfect shot!!!....(of me, anyway)

I think my frog is a bit tired since it's his first day home. We'll give him a rest for the evening.

Spring is here and I'm 10 months old!!

Finally finally finally....SPRING IS HERE!!!! The flowers are out, and the grass is green. Mom and I have seen violets, daffodils, tulips and we even saw some bluebells. I've been getting long walks and took my first walk through the woods this afternoon. Lazy Mom didn't bring her camera on our walks, so you'll have to settle for a picture of me posing on my deck. I've asked Mom to bring her video camera to Grandma's tomorrow so you can see me romping through the grass and chomping the dandelions.

We almost forgot that it's my 10 month old birthday today!! Since it's the weekend, we're not looking at the calendar a lot today, so almost missed it. Today I had to take my Heartgard, and I took the pill with no problem. That's because I'm 10 months old, and much more mature than I was last month when I tossed the pill around the floor.

Funny Teddy

When we arrived home after Teddy's obedience class graduation, he ran off into the house and disappeared. I called for him, but he didn't respond. Then I found him standing in the bathtub. He was obviously thirsty, so had jumped in himself figuring he could get a drink. I wash his feet everytime we return from a walk.

How many of you pups actually jump into the bathtub? Teddy's quite the character!

I'm a Basic Obedience Course Graduate!!

Wow, I can't believe it!! I passed my basic obedience class tonight! I just have to show off my brand new certificate.

Mom was worried that I'd be held back a class because I was the youngest of the group. I also did lots of jumping around and sometimes distracted the other dogs. None of those things were my fault because those dogs were just too tempting to me.

The teacher suggested that some dogs were ready to test for Canine Good Citizen, but she didn't suggest I try...hmm.... Maybe I'm already a perfect citizen and don't need to take that test.

10 Honest Things About Me

My friend, Honey the Great Dane, gave me this Honest Scrap award which challenges me to name 10 honest things about myself. Hmmm...I'll give it a try!!

1. I like to have my teeth brushed at least twice a day. When I hear Mom brushing her teeth, I come running and wait for my turn.

2. Sometimes I don't pay attention and let my tongue stick out of my mouth. I guess it's not polite to do that, but people say it looks awfully cute.

3. I'm a part-time personal trainer. I wake Mom up early, and help her with her exercises by licking her face when she does situps and grabbing at her feet when she does leg lifts.

4. I make a high pitched whistle when I yawn that makes everyone laugh.

5. I like to steal socks and gloves and toss them around the house. It's fun stealing Kleenex too and tearing it up. I also like to play with my food and toss it in the air and throw it around the house.

6. I have parti-colored eyes, meaning they are different colors like blue and hazel. People tell me they are beautiful.

7. My nicknames are "Monkey" and "Teddy Bear".

8. Sometimes I like to sit back on my haunches and have Mom hold my hand. It makes me look like a little human, but that's OK.

9. I play rough with other doggies and like to hump their faces. Mom says it's embarrassing, but I think it's wonderful.

10. I trick Mom sometimes...OK, lots of times... by pretending to have to go outside when I just want to play. There is a bell on our door that I ring when I have to go pee-pee, but usually I ring it when I want to PLAY!!!

Mom's note: I took Teddy to his vet who said that the bald patch on his shoulder is just irritation from wearing his harness. We have a special spray to help heal up the spot and I've put a patch of moleskin on the harness strap to provide cushioning. That's good news! His vet also says he is a perfect weight even though he gets a cup of food per day which she says is a lot for his size, but he burns off the calories so it's OK.

Burning off Energy

video

Hi everyone. Mom has been "busy", which is her lazy way of saying that her boring stuff is more important than my blog. No way, Mom!!

I got her to shoot a video of me burning off some energy. Sometimes this energy gets so powerful that I have to run around myself to release it. This happens even though I get three walks and play fetch sessions every day. Mom's note: It's probably because he's well-behaved and quiet at Grandma's, so he has to let off steam when he gets home!

I'm not doing pee-pee in the house anymore since I taught Mom that lesson well. She was very worried, so hopefully I won't see that groomer again, however, we are going to my vet tomorrow to see about the bald patch on my side because it has been itching me and is getting bigger. We're not sure if it's due to my harness or something else.

Mom's note: I started using T-man's old harness on Teddy last week, but unfortunately, he chewed one of the straps in half, so I'll have to find a replacement.

New Haircut

Sorry it's taken me a while to post my new haircut. Every time Mom tried taking a picture, I ran away. You know how it is when you're busy. No time for posing!

Anyway, Mom didn't tell me about the grooming until we arrived at the place. I was shocked and trembled when the groomer picked me up. It was very stressful for me.

I'm punishing Mom by having more accidents in the house. I've had about nine pee-pee accidents indoors since that day.

By the way, you might notice the bald spot on my side which was where my harness rubbed against my fur and left a mark. I'm not wearing that harness anymore so my fur can grow back. I'm too young to go bald!

Mom's note: I'm not sure what's causing Teddy to start pee-ing in the house again. He seems very healthy so I'm hoping it's just a behavior thing and not a health issue. In addition to the grooming, Grandma left him alone outside his carrier for most of the day on Wednesday which was a new thing (he behaved very well). I moved some furniture around temporarily, which may have been scary. I was also under some stress this week...but that's nothing new. Who knows?

Guess Where I Am?

Guess where I am in this picture...

PS: If you guessed that I'm standing in the snow, you're totally wrong!!

I'm standing in the bathtub waiting to get my feet cleaned. Usually I step in the wet dirt outdoors and it clings to my feet. Dirt and I get along really well. Unfortunately, Mom doesn't want me to bring my friend into the house, so I get a feet cleaning almost every time. I don't mind. My friend Dirt is always waiting for me every time I go outside.

Mom's note: Teddy is getting groomed tomorrow, but I don't have the heart to tell him yet.

Hi, my name is Bunny!! This is my first day in my new home.

Uh-oh...what's that I hear??

Ooh...I don't like this!!

Yaaahhh!!! Somebody help me!!!

Oh my, that tickles...hee hee hee hee

So this must be Teddy, the REAL playboy

The REAL playboy has his bunny at last!!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!

What's Wrong With This??

Mom can get kind of fussy when I play with her gloves and socks. I like to grab them and throw them in the air, then scatter them around the house. She says she can't find them when she needs them so quit fooling around. I don't know what's wrong with that. She has plenty of socks I've scattered around...she can just grab one anytime. I'm just trying to help, that's all!

Mom's note: He does look pretty cute in this picture and when he throws the socks in the air, so I don't scold him very often.

Where's Spring?

Mom keeps telling me about how much fun "spring" will be. We've been waiting and waiting for the flowers to bloom on the trees and to see the green leaves. Unfortunately this weekend all we saw was this....

What a rip off!! This looks as gloomy as it did in December when I came to my new home. Of course, there has been some green grass and a few warmer days, but still...

I'm dreaming of flowers...

T-man Angel sent me this picture of him and Mom posing in front of some flowers. Hopefully I'll be able to pose with Mom in front of the flowers someday too.

I'm Nine Months Old!!

Hey everyone, come celebrate with me on my nine month birthday!!

Now that I'm nine months old, I'm getting more grown-up acting. I've gotten better at stealing Kleenex when Mom's not looking, and stealing clothes from the hamper. I remember to brush my teeth everyday, and wake Mom up as soon as the alarm clock rings. I've also started taking beginner "obedience" training. Mom even had to loosen my harness and collar because they got too tight. She says I'm growing into a strong healthy pup.

Mom says I can only celebrate these "month" birthdays while I'm a puppy. Once I'm one years old we'll have a real party with cake and presents, but then I'll have to wait a whole year to celebrate again.

Big Surprise

Wow, when we woke up this morning, there was a big surprise waiting for us outdoors.

Mom didn't like it, but I thought it was GREAT!!!  I jumped and danced into that delicious white stuff.  It was so much fun!!

Something was slowing me down, so Mom picked me up and found that I had massive snowball feet.  This sticky spring snow seems to like my feet, legs and belly.

I had already shaken off a lot of the snow before this picture was taken.  The snow was so thick I could hardly walk.  But it was FUN!!!

Mom dunked me in warm water to help melt the snow.  Maybe we'll get to go out in a couple of hours for more fun!!

Mom's note:   A couple of days ago we saw our first violet of the season, and the crocuses and daffodils were starting to come up.  I hope this snow melts soon.  It's no fun to walk in, though Teddy might disagree.

My New Doughnut

My neighbor gave me a toy doughnut to celebrate my getting this great new home.

My doughnut squeaks

It's good exercise for my teeth

I'm not sure if it tastes good or not

What does chocolate taste like?

Hmm..it tastes like plastic

So do the sprinkles

I still love my brand new doughnut!!

De-Catting MY Carrier

Lately, Aunt Smokey, Grandma's fat cat, has been spending the night in MY carrier. It's MY carrier because that's what Mom brought me home in when she rescued me. Mom's note: It was actually Uncle Sammi's carrier and is many years older than Teddy.

Anyway, every morning when I go to Grandma Daycare, it's my job to de-cat MY carrier. I documented my work last week in this video.

Happy Anniversary from T-man Angel

Hi everyone!! It's me...T-man Angel. I know it's been a while since my last visit because I've been letting my new brother Teddy practice posting to this blog. So far I think he's been doing a good job for such a little guy.

I just wanted to wish my mom happy anniversary on this special day which is the day she adopted me officially. It was a very happy day, and we were both relieved when she signed those papers. Of course, I had to chew them up on the way home because I was so excited!

Thanks Mom for the wonderful time we spent together. It was one of the best parts of my life.

I miss my family and all my blogging friends. I've been thinking about all of you.

Romantic Weekend

CC-man's girlfriend, Sunny, spent time at our house over the weekend. CC-man was really happy because Sunny's mom brought him an egg biscuit-on-a-stick which he thinks is the greatest invention ever.

Sunny had to stay inside her cage the whole time because Mom was afraid I might scare her. CC-man could only gaze at her through the bars.

Hello my lovely

Let's climb on my magic ladder and get away..

We can nibble at the Eiffel Tower

Clean our feathers at Yosemite Falls

Poop on the beach at sunset

CC-man kept Sunny enthralled as he spoke at length of his travels. Then she fell asleep, and he went back to chomping on that giant egg biscuit stick.

No More Barking at the Blender

Now that I'm eight months old, I'm trying to act more mature. That means being brave and not letting things scare me.

When I was six months old, I was scared of the vacuum cleaner. I was also scared of the ironing board, and barked at the blender.

Now I can look the vacuum cleaner in the eye, and don't try to bite it when it starts growling. I just ignore the ironing board. It ignores me too. And I don't bark and growl at the blender anymore.

Personal Trainer

Hi everyone!! Guess what? I've got a new job. It's called being a "personal trainer". My job is to get Mom in shape for summer...ooh...we've got a LOT of work to do on that!

Anyway, my duties begin at precisely 5:40AM when I wake her up for our walk. Sometimes I have to jump around and lick her face to get her moving. Once she's up, I take her on a brisk walk around the neighborhood. No excuses allowed. It's really just for her own good!!

Sometimes she gets a bit crabby on the weekends when I wake her up at 5:40AM. On those days, I let her go back to sleep, but then she'll have to take me on an extra walk to make up for it.

Tuesday, March 03, 2009

I'm Eight Months Old

Today I'm officially eight months old! I'm feeling much more mature than I was last month.

I haven't had any accidents for the past few weeks. Mom says if I can make it to one month, then we can say I'm house-trained.

Ooh, can I make it one month??

Helping with Exercises

Mom and I have a morning routine of taking our walk then doing our exercises. I like to help with the exercises by squeaking my toy in her face while she's doing her situps, and jumping on her leg while she does her leg lifts. Those exercises look boring, so I'm trying to keep her motivated to finish them all up.

Here's a picture of me with one of T-man's old toys. He couldn't chew it up, so he said I could play with it. He said that his friend, Huskee Boy, gave it to him.

Snowy Walk

Guess what?? We got another snowfall here, which meant I got to make snowball feet again!! Here's a video of me enjoying the fresh snow on my morning walk.

PS: Mom made me stand in a warm bath to melt my snowball feet afterwards. Phooey!!

Happy Valentines Day!!

This morning, Mom took me to the groomers to get shaved, plucked and combed. She said I need to look the most handsome I can for Valentine's Day.

I hope my friends have a Happy V-Day!!

I hope you like handsome Teddy

T-Peeing

I've been reading the blog of my friends, the 4-B's, and wanted to try one of their fun hobbies which is playing with toilet paper. It is SO much fun. Playing with Kleenex is great too!

Mom doesn't approve of my hobby because she says toilet paper is expensive. She says I should play with my toys instead.

I'm a Puppy School Graduate!!

Tonight Mom and I went to puppy school as usual, but this time I had to take a test. Mom and I hadn't really practiced today, but we did really well. I showed off my "sit", "watch me", "stay", "down", "paw", "leave it", and "come". The only ones I have a problem with are "leave it" because I DON'T ever want to leave it, and "come" because I'm usually doing something fun and don't want to be interrupted!

Afterwards, I got a certificate showing that I am a graduate. I also got a toy from my teacher.

Mom wants us to continue on to intermediate class so I can learn to walk better on the leash. Now, I take Mom for her walks, but she says that's not the way it's supposed to be. Mom and I have been taking lots of walks, especially nice long ones in the morning, and I love them!

CC-man offered me his birdie congratulations too!

Now, go fetch my egg biscuit!!

I'm Seven Months Old!!

Today's my seventh month old birthday!! Mom says I was born on July 3rd which makes me one, two, three, four, five, six, seven months old today!!

Mom says I've gotten bigger, and I've learned a lot. So far, I've had no accidents today. It's been almost three days in a row.

This profile is seven months old!!

Mom's note: I realized that Teddy needs to go potty more in the evenings because he plays non-stop from the time I get him home till bedtime, and his system is revved up. Grandma says he doesn't "go" that often at her place.
Thus all the "accidents" at home versus none at Grandma's. Lucky Grandma!!

High Energy Teddy

Hi everyone!! I finally got Mom to post a quick update. I've been keeping her busy with walks and playtimes. My training instructor today said that I'm a "high energy" dog. Mom says it's good because I make her get lots of exercise.

Since lazy Mom hasn't been posting my potty updates, I wanted to let you know that today I had no accidents!! I've been good on the weekdays, but bad on the weekends. I just get confused by all the schedule changes.

New Coat

Mom wanted to wash my red jacket, but was worried about how I would stay warm, so she bought me a new jacket!! It's the same style, but in a different color.

Mom's note: I gave Teddy a bath this weekend and combed him. He handled it just fine. I think he's getting over his fear of the comb.

Redefining "Playboy"

I'm still a young pup, but I've had time to consider a few things lately. For example, when you hear the word "playboy", you might think of this....

But I don't get it because that man is not a "boy" and I don't ever see him playing, at least, not like this...

A real playboy should have lots of toys to play with. Don't you think I look like a real playboy??

A real playboy should be young and like to play. That makes more sense!! I'm sure we have lots of real playboys in the DWB network!!

Hmm..do I need to get some bunnies?

Very Important Day

Today is a V.I.D., or Very Important Day, because it's the one-month anniversary of when Mom rescued me from the shelter and brought me to my new home.

I gave Mom a gift today of NO ACCIDENTS in the house. I think that's the best present I can give her now.

UPDATE: Oops, I couldn't do it....I had one accident!!

Brushing my Teeth

Here's a video of me brushing my teeth before bed. Every night when Mom brushes her teeth, I wait by the bathroom sink for my turn. I love the toothpaste! Mom's note: It's beef flavored toothpaste for dogs. The toothbrush feels good against my back teeth which are still growing in.

Mom's note: There isn't much brushing going on; he's really just chewing the toothbrush, but it's still got to be good for his teeth.

Learning Puppy School Tricks

Mom is really happy because I'm finally figuring out the stuff they've been teaching me in puppy school. Some of that stuff didn't make sense at first, but when I keep getting treats for trying, it kind of gets inside my head and works itself out.

For example, Mom kept saying "sit" and holding a treat to my nose which made me want to run away. But then I finally figured out what she wanted, so now when I sit down, I get to eat the treat. She also taught me "down", which took me a week to figure out, but now I get it. I know "watch me" and am working on "stay".

"Leave it" is the hardest one because I don't want to leave anything alone, especially if I can put it inside my mouth. Mom says that's an important thing we need to work on.

We have another class on Sunday evening. Grandma is coming along to this class. It will be fun to show Grandma what I'm doing at school.

Cold Morning

Brrr...it has been cold around here! Our temperature was below zero all day. Mom and I were worried about going outdoors to get to work. CC-man didn't care because he stays in Mom's sunny bedroom all day.

What, me worry??

I tried to talk Mom into staying home this morning.

Mom, can't we call in sick to work?

My pig and I need a day off!!

Unfortunately, we went out anyway. Mom carried me to the car, so it wasn't that bad.

Mom's note: Teddy still hasn't pooped up the clock part. He's been eating and pooping normally and is very active. Hopefully I don't have to worry.

Teddy Plays Ball

A few weeks ago, T-man Angel directed me in my first video!! I'm showing off how I can play fetch with a ball.

Mom's note: So far, nothing has turned up in Teddy's poop. He is eating well and is very active.

I'm Making Mom Worry

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Mom and I have been really busy.

I did something that made Mom worry about me a lot. When we were playing fetch, Mom accidentally threw my toy against the wall, and one of her little clocks fell on the floor. While she was grabbing the pieces, I helped grab one, and swallowed it. My little piece had broken off one of Mom's bigger pieces, and she didn't notice it till a few seconds later after I had taken it.

Here's a picture of the bigger piece and the missing part I took.

Mom called my vet and was told to give me some bread and whole grain cereal with some Vaseline on it. I ate that all up! I certainly felt fine...what was the problem?

Mom was really anxious about my poops. She collected them all and examined them. The next day she saw a little piece of the clock part in my poop. But it was just a tiny piece. Where was the rest of it?

Mom took me to the vets yesterday during the snow storm so we could get an X-ray. They couldn't see anything. The vet thought maybe I chewed the part into smaller pieces, and he recommended putting me on Hill's W/D which is a high fiber cereal. I'm getting that for six days, and Mom will keep checking my poops.

So far, none of the clock parts have shown up, but I feel just fine. Mom is really worried though. I'm sorry to make her worry so much since she worried a lot about T-man.

Pee-S: The good news is that I'm starting to understand this bathroom thing, and haven't had any accidents for three days in a row!! Yippee!!!

Getting Better

Today was a much better day for me. Grandma was really proud of what a good boy I was. She had to leave me for the morning, and I rested really nicely in my crate...after doing some bawling, but don't tell her! I didn't do any accidents at Grandma's or at home today!! I've found out how much fun it is running around Grandma's backyard on the leash!

Mom was a bit worried about me this morning because I was chewing the bathroom rug and swallowed some of the fibers. She hopes they pass through me. ** Sigh** I still have a lot to learn!

Challenging Weekend

This has been a challenging week for Mom and me. I've done many more accidents than I should have done. Yesterday was really bad.

I visited my vet yesterday. She said that I look really healthy. She also said that it's very important for Mom to work with me on my behavior and makes sure I know who's boss. Unfortunately, I'm getting the feeling that I'm not supposed to be the boss. Mom has been very strict with me lately. It's tough knowing you can't be the boss all the time. Mom's note: Also, I gave him some yogurt yesterday which may have upset his belly a bit.

Mom and I went to puppy school tonight. We learned "leave it", "drop it", and "down". Mom says we need to practice the first two a lot.

Mom's note: I think Teddy gets jealous of CC-man too. When I was paying attention to CC-man, Teddy had an accident. He was also acting extra naughty.

First Day of the New Year

Hi everyone!! I hope you all enjoyed your New Year's Day. I started it out a bit shaky because I had to pee really bad and couldn't wait for Mom to get me out, so I went on the mat near the door. Mom's note: The poor little guy was trying to get outside, but couldn't make it.

I also wanted to prove that I'm growing into a big man dog, so I spent New Year's Eve night in T-man's old bed. I did not sleep in the big bed with Mom just this once. Mom's note: I was very surprised that he wanted to sleep in that bed. T-man always slept up on the bed with me, and I thought Teddy would do the same. I'm glad he's secure enough to pick his own place to sleep.

We went to Grandma's for dinner. I had another accident there too, but later got to enjoy cuddling in the lounge chair with Mom. Life can be good even if you do accidents sometimes...

My Favorite Place

I want to show you my favorite place in the whole wide world. It's on the big bed. Mom lets me and my toys sleep here at night with her. We also take naps here.

I've learned how to jump up on the bed by myself. I can also jump down. Mom's note: I don't like him doing all that jumping so will buy him some doggie steps and hope he uses them.

My duck and I like to wrestle in the morning. We like to feel the warmth of the sun.

I'm hoping that next year will be a great year for me. My first few months have been tough.

I'd like to wish peace and love to all the homeless pups out in the world, and happiness to my new DWB friends. T-man Angel sends his love too.

Oops, I did it again

Uh-oh, Mom and I were so hopeful...but I had another accident in the house. What happened was that Mom was moving carpets around so she could mop the floor. I thought things were changing too much, and got nervous, so I had to make an accident. I couldn't help myself.

Celebration of No Accidents

Today Mom and I celebrated my first day of no accidents in the house achieved yesterday. And so far today, I've been accident-free.

Mom's note: The day isn't over yet, so I'll tally the results tomorrow morning.
Also, the bad weather caused us some problems last week -- subzero temps, icy conditions, deep snow, rain, etc. Now the ground is relatively dry and the temps are reasonable, so Teddy is able to walk outdoors easier.

I went to puppy class last night and learned how to set my bottom on the ground to get a treat. I also learned about walking on a leash, and it's getting easier. Mom thinks I'm not responding as well as I should to the clicker, so we need to practice more. I'm getting chicken treats out of it, so maybe I should take my time learning those tricks!

This morning we went to Grandma's but they put me in my carrier for two hours while they went out for breakfast. What a rip-off!!

Anyway, I like spending most of the day with Mom. We took a long nap this afternoon. She was tired after her breakfast, and I was tired after being cooped up in the carrier.

I'm posing in this picture with my doggie who kept me company on the ride home from the shelter. He's my first toy friend at my new home.

Keeping Busy

Hi, it's Teddy again! I've been very busy adjusting to living with Mom. I've been learning how to steal her socks and how to lick the spoons in the dishwasher. I've also discovered the trashcans and try to steal tissues and run around the house with them. I keep hearing Mom yelling "NO" a lot, but I'm not sure why she's doing that. I'm just having so much fun!!

I have learned how to fetch a toy, so we have fun with that.

I've also been busy guarding our place against dangerous intruders like this scary cat.

Grrrrr....

Mom's note: Teddy discovered the cat photo on the box of litter and started barking at it. He's also barked at his reflection in the mirror.

Teddy's First Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a cockatiel...

Gotta sit still for Santa

CC-man was worried on Christmas Eve because Teddy was being really naughty on Christmas Eve. He was stealing tissues from the wastebasket, stealing socks, having accidents on the floor, chewing my arm, etc. CC-man was afraid Santa would pass our house, but...

He didn't forget!!

CC-man was delighted to see that his stocking was full of egg biscuit on Christmas morning. Santa didn't forget him!!

Teddy didn't put out a stocking, but he got to join me at Grandma's to open presents. I had wrapped two presents for Teddy even before I had gone out to meet him!

Here we are by the Christmas tree...

Teddy wore T-man's sweater to keep warm. Here's a picture of him with his stuffed Santa toy.

Here he is relaxing after opening presents.

Teddy discovered T-man's snuggle ball on Christmas night. Here he is snuggling in it.

This is the life!!

Merry Christmas to all our DWB friends!!

Puppy's Christmas Eve

Hi everyone!! My name is Teddy. I'm getting used to my new home with my new mom and funny bird brother. Mom has been really busy watching me and taking me out for potty breaks. I'm still learning about what I'm supposed to do. Mom helps by saying "NO!" a lot so I know what's right and what's wrong.

I got my fur washed and clipped on Monday. I also went to my first class at puppy school. I'm learning how to watch Mom when she presses a clicker. It's fun because I'm getting lots of treats out of it! I've spent two days at Grandma Daycare. I watch TV with Grandma and can see the images on the screen.

Mom thought she was going to keep me in my carrier overnight. That didn't work out so well because I'm sleeping in her bed every night like a baby. I've never slept in a real bed before, and it's just heaven!!

Mom's note: I gave up on the carrier because he cried too loud. I live in a condo, so can't have all the noise. He sleeps the whole night through just fine in the bed. He would have ended up there eventually anyway!

I think an angel must be looking out for me, because I feel like I've died and gone to heaven. I'm clean, have lots of good food to eat, toys to play with, and a new family. It's a real Merry Christmas for me.

Mom's note: T-man Angel really gave me the best present of all in little Teddy. He's adorable and is learning quickly. We have a ways to go on potty training, but we'll get there.

First Night

Here's a picture of Teddy in his carrier on his first night home. He was quiet on the car ride and pretty quiet while visiting Grandma. I put his carrier in my spare bedroom at night, and after some crying, he was OK. Then I had to get up to get some medicine, and in the process, woke him up which set him crying and howling for the next half an hour. I finally had to take him to Grandma's and put his carrier in the basement where he settled down. I live in a condo, so can't have him making noise too late at night. I stayed overnight at Grandma's too.

In the morning, he ate well, and did a nice pee-pee and poop outdoors. I brought him home, but he still cried in his carrier so I let him out to play and practice some commands. He's already learning how to play fetch! Now he's working on his chew toy since he's teething. He follows me everywhere, so he's easy to keep an eye on. He hasn't paid much attention to CC-man, and CC-man doesn't seem concerned by him. We have sub-zero temps, but he's quick to do his business when I take him out. (I shoveled a small path for him outside our building and he's marked it with his scent so knows what it's for)

I'm taking Teddy to a puppy training class this afternoon at PetSmart. He might need to spend the night at Grandma's again. He doesn't have any idea about how to snuggle or sleep in a bed. He may need to stay in his carrier for a while till he's better adjusted.

Ooh, this feels good on my sore teeth!!
